Picture Of The Day: 08.11.10 // FAMILY TIES
It’s not often that you get to visit the land of your ancestors. When I recently traveled to Scotland, I had to think of really meaningful things to bring back. Here are 2 of the items I brought back.
On the right is a silver spoon. On the end of the spoon is the crown of King of Scotland. I bought this at the Edinburgh Castle, where the crown, the rock, and scepter of the king is kept. The silver spoon will be given to my first born child, if I ever have any. When my father passed away, I recieved my first spoon, and my fathers first spoon. Since the pilgrimage was dedicated to my father, it only seemed fitting.
On the left are cufflings of my family crest. My history is from the Douglas Clan of Scotland. I am very proud of that. As morbid as this may sound, I only plan to wear these cufflings once in my life; my funeral.
